LYSANDRA PETERSSON
​
Lysandra hails from Virginia's Shenandoah Valley. She attended Hampshire College in Massachusetts, graduating with a degree in creative writing. Lysandra began her career in Los Angeles, where she worked in independent film for a decade before moving back to Virginia. She is the series director of the VPM PBS series Life in the Heart Land, and the writer-director of Deep Structure's feature films 500 Fireflies (2025) and Bell Canyon (2019). ​

ZAN GILLIES
​
Zan is a cinematographer and screenwriter who holds an MFA in Film and Electronic Media from American University. His short film Last Strike was an award winner at the Austin Film Festival, after which he was listed by MovieMaker Magazine as one of Austin Film Festival’s Screenwriters To Watch in 2022. His script On The Skulls of Giants won the Pilot Award at the 2023 BlueCat Screenplay Competition, and others of his screenplays have placed at the semi-finals at the Academy Nicholl Fellowship and Austin Film Festival. Zan has taught film at both the college and high-school level. See more here.




ZACH LALIBERTE

Zach is a film worker, musician and actor from Chattanooga, TN. He attended Columbia College in Chicago, graduating with a degree in acting in 2003. He has released two albums as a singer/songwriter and wrote and directed Deep Structure's first feature-length film, Bobbi & Gill. He is the composer and singer of the end theme to Life in the Heart Land, and stars in the film 500 Fireflies. In addition to his film work, Zach is a professional improv instructor.
